Special art classes in Mangawhai Heads for youth aged 10+

As an experienced teacher and art educator this is my dream way of teaching and I truly believe it is the best way for children to think creatively and thrive artistically.

My name is Mandy Jakich. I am an experienced qualified teacher, the founder and previous owner/CEO of a well respected Auckland based art education business called Creative Matters and now the founder of Creative Connections and the host of the Creative Connections podcast. I’m moving to Mangawhai Heads at the end of August and will be starting up special art classes in my art studio, starting mid September.​

  • Limited spaces so enrol ASAP!

  • Choose from Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon classes, attend 1, 2 or 3 sessions a week - your choice!

  • For young people aged 10+ who are passionate about art making and can manage themselves and work independently (Younger children by arrangement)

  • 1-1 support for each child’s artistic interests and needs.

  • No more than 5 young people in a session

  • Flexible timing from 3.30pm - 6pm. You and your child can choose when to arrive and leave within that time

  • $40 per session/trial including all materials

  • Attend the sessions for 3 years or 3 months or 3 weeks!

  • Trials welcome by arrangement

  • Family discount of 10% per person

  • Not based around school terms

  • Homeschooled and unschooled children welcome

  • Choose from media such as painting, drawing, cartooning, costume design, illustration, collage, mixed media, cold wax medium using oil paints and beeswax, linocut and woodcut printmaking, 3D sculpture (papier mache, wire, recycled materials etc)

  • A focus on the creative process more than technical realistic drawing skills

  • Linking ideas with artists for inspiration
